SibI buy the vast majority of my books from Amazon. I like to read the customer reviews because it has been my experience that they are usually aligned with my personal opinions. The Single Best Investment: Creating Wealth with Dividend Growth came up when I did a search for dividend books on Amazon. It is rated 4.5 stars. Did it live up to its hype?

magic3.jpgAlmost two years ago I read The Little Book That Beats the Market by Joel Greenblatt. I like to take a portion of my investment account and try new things to see how they work. Sci0103jump_A1It didn’t take long for me to decide that Google Blogger was too limited for my tastes. Like any good band-wagoner, I jumped on the back of the Wordpress train. I have a programming background so that wasn’t my original reservation. My original problem was that I wanted to do as little as possible to get this site up and moving. My artistic abilities are rather limited as well.

Nevertheless, here we are with a new site and a new domain. I found a template that I liked and there was no looking back. If anyone else out there is thinking about setting up their own site, then just take a look around. There are tons of informational sites.

I am planning to stop by the bookstore tonight and pick up WordPress For Dummies as a reference guide. I just like having a book around to thumb through as a reference. I will give a review of it at a later date.

Here we go…

So I have decided to start my own Dividend Investing blog. Having spent the last ten years or so reading different books and trying different investment styles, I believe my tastes lean towards high yield dividend stocks. Do I know all there is to know about investing in high yield dividend stocks? Definitely not. I want this blog to serve as a learning experience for myself and anyone else that cares to follow. I plan to start by reviewing books I have read or that I am currently reading to determine what makes a great high yield dividend investment. The book that I am currently reading is The Single Best Investment: Creating Wealth with Dividend Growth by Lowell Miller.
