Memorial Day was awesome. My wife and I celebrated our 12th wedding anniversary at the beach. People always tell you that time flies. Well I believe it. Seems like just yesterday we were doing the wedding thing and starting our lives together (in debt). Here we are today with two children and no debt. I always try to remember to enjoy the moments I have with them. I hope you do the same.
This is a short update since I have been out of the loop. The Thoroughbred Folio gave back ground over the last week. A weak housing market and climbing oil prices don’t help matters. There were no dividends distributed by any of our companies during this period.
There is a new sheriff in town and that is Wrigley. The bubble gum maker has finally taken over the top spot as Nucor falls to second. Synovus is still holding on to the third spot. Budweiser is gaining fast on news of a takeover bid.
The banks still continue to drag down the rest of the pack. Fifth Third and Regions are scrapping the bottom. Gannett is the only thing keeping us from a hat trick of bank stocks down there, as it just edged out Bank of America for third worst.
