Marsellus Wallace (Pulp Fiction) once said, “The night of the fight, you may feel a slight sting. That’s pride f*****g with you. F*** pride. Pride only hurts, it never helps.” Yahoo! rejected an offer by Microsoft a couple of months ago. The offer was a significant premium for Yahoo! shareholders. Today Microsoft withdrew the offer and Yahoo! shareholders are pissed. Microsoft had increased its offer to $33 a share, but Yahoo! wanted $37. Needless to say this is not the end of this story. Will Yahoo! be a victim of pride?
The Thoroughbred Folio cares little about the goings-on with these high flying Internet companies. Our Folio has made great strides in the last couple of weeks. The second round of dividends keeps trickling in and most of the stocks have gained ground. We are tantalizingly close to getting back to even money. This week BB&T and Wrigley distributed a total of $1.47 to our dividend total.
It should come as no surprise that Nucor still leads the pack as steel prices keep ratcheting up. Wrigley is a solid second as Mars/Berkshire look to take the company private. Synovus Financial has risen back up to third place to finish out the top three.
Gannett refuses to recover as it still lags all stocks in the Folio. It is still followed by Fifth Third Bancorp. However, Consolidated Edison has eased back into the bottom three. It is a very diverse group at the bottom these days.

Jake: I tried to find an email address on your site, but I couldn’t locate it.
Recently, I moved my blog to a custom domain (from http://www.dividends4life.blogspot.com to http://www.dividends4life.com). The transition was relatively smooth, except I lost all my indexed pages in the search engines and my page rank - it is nearly like starting over from day one.
I am writing you to ask your help in rebuilding my page rank. Your site is currently linked to my old .blogspot address. It would help greatly, if you could update the link to my blog to point to: http://www.dividends4life.com
Thanks, I appreciate your help in this!
Best Wishes,
D4L
